This beautiful, icon-style St. Nicholas medallion is fashioned from 14K yellow gold and features the Saint with the Holy Scriptures in his left hand, giving a blessing with his right. He is attired in bishop's clothing and holds a mitre. Image has a polished finish; background and back are both matte-finished. Measuring just under 3/4", this design also available as our Sterling Silver Medallion #8161.
St. Nicholas (the real Santa Clause) was the archbishop of Myra in the fourth century. He is known for his generosity towards the poor, and is an intercessor for many groups of people, among them children, travelers (especially sea-farers) and people in distress. His feast day is celebrated on December 6.
