"Butterfly Ballet"® Ovarian Cancer Awareness Bracelet in Sterling Silver--DISCONTINUED--NO LONGER AVAILABLE
- High-polished Sterling Silver
- 7" Length with Lobster Clasp
- Packed in Butterfly Ballet Pouch with Brochure
Fashioned with high-polished sterling silver, "Butterfly Ballet"® bracelet is designed with a unique butterfly shape: the center and each wing each features a dancer. The ovarian cancer awareness charm measures an approximate 13/16" x 3/4". A high-security lobster clasp secures this 7" Figaro chain bracelet in place.
This bracelet was originally created as a pendant by Mike Maixner in 1984 as a birthday gift for his wife, dancer Danalee Maixner. He later recreated the "Pas de Trois" (dance for three) Butterfly Ballet pendant in response to his wife's death from ovarian cancer - as a tribute to her life and her love of dance, and to create awareness and funding in the battle against ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cancer among women. It strikes 1 in 69 women and causes more deaths than any other kind of female reproductive cancer.
