Saint Michael Shield Medal in Sterling Silver

St. Michael is viewed in some traditions as the patron saint of policemen, mariners and those who are in battle.  He is also known as the Commander of the Heavenly hosts: "O foremost of the heavenly hosts, we who are unworthy beseech you, by your petitions encompass us with the shadow of your immaterial glory.  Preserve us who kneel and cry ceaselessly, 'Deliver us from oppression, since you are the Prince of the ranks of the heavenly hosts!' " (Orthodox hymn to St. Michael).
