Oval St. Christopher Medals in Sterling Silver with Chain #8172

This oval, sterling silver St. Christopher medal features the Saint with his staff, carrying a child through water.  Made with a matte-finish; the border reads "Protect Us".  This child represents Christ: smaller sizes show the child with a halo, and the 29mm version features Him giving a blessing.  Available in three sizes: 21.25mm, 23.75mm and 29mm, and includes a silver chain (longer chains are available for an additional cost - choose from selection boxes above).  See this same design in our 14K Gold Medal #8171. 

St. Christopher (3rd century) is known by many as the protector of travelers.  Some traditions say that he was a man of great strength whose livelihood was carrying people across a raging river - he is said to have carried the child Christ across one day.  A martyr for Christ, his feast day is celebrated on May 9.
