Sterling Silver Face of Jesus with Crown of Thorns #8307

This beautiful Sterling Silver Medal shows Jesus with the Crown of Thorns on his head. The Crown of Thorns was placed on Jesus' head by the Roman soldiers who were mocking Jesus by placing a "crown" on his head and clothing him in a purple robe as if he were royalty. The soldiers did this after the trial of Jesus before Pontius Pilate immediately before the crucifixion. This event is recorded in the Gospel of John where it says, "And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head and arrayed him in a purple robe. They came up to him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and struck him with their hands."
