Kiev Cross in Sterling Silver #5813
- Sterling Silver (.925)
- Traditional Orthodox Cross
- Ships in our Velvet Gift Box or Pouch
This Orthodox cross is a version of the St. Andrew Cross. The Slavonic letters on top abbreviate “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews”. The Greek letters IC and XC are the letters that serve as an abbreviation of Jesus Christ. The Slavonic Letters at the top of the Cross are the abbreviation of the sign placed above the head of Christ which read "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews." When the Apostle Andrew preached he showed his listeners a life-size three-bar cross . While explaining the Last Judgment he tilted the foot rest at the bottom of the cross to signify that those on the right side of Christ will go up into heaven and those on the left will descend into hell.
