This lovely, Our Lady of Perpetual Help medallion is fashioned from 14K yellow gold and bordered with a scrolled, open-work frame". The matte-finished center depicts the the Virgin, crowned, holding Christ. Measures an approximate 3/4" diameter, and reads "Our Lady of Perpetual Help Pray for Us". Can be worn as a charm or small pendant.
Known in the Catholic Church as Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the icon that this medal is fashioned after is more correctly called Theotokos of the Passion. The Theotokos (God-bearer) holds Christ and looks directly at the viewer, rather than her Son. On the left, the Archangel Michael carries the lance and sponge of Christ's crucifixion. The Archangel Gabriel, on the right, holds a three-bar cross and nails.
